“Your past is part of your journey; a chapter in your story, but it does not define who you are or where you go. You get to flip the page and begin again.”- Briana Sampson
Are you experiencing anxiety, depression, or relational struggles? Have you survived previous trauma/abuse or managing grief and loss? Pregnancy and post-partum changes and challenges impacting your daily life? I am here to help!
Do you need a safe, unbiased, non-judgmental space to address what is going on in your world? You are not alone and I am here to take these steps with you.
Hi, my name is Briana and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I first want to acknowledge the courage and strength it takes to initiate this initial step in the counseling process. My encouragement for you would be to be kind to yourself as you begin, or continue your counseling journey. For some of you, this may be your first experience in counseling, and for others you may be returning or continuing the work you have already started. No matter what experience lead you to where you are at this moment, you are not alone. I look forward to hearing from you and getting the opportunity to work with you.
Initiating the counseling process can feel intimidating. I want to provide information to assist in making this as smooth as possible. Here is some information on what you can expect!
Making contact! The first step is to reach out to me. I am here and ready when you are. Once this is completed we move to the telephone consultation.
Telephone Consultation: This is a free 10-15 minute conversation where we get to discuss information and what you are looking for. This is a time for questions- we begin to get to know each other. I will ask general questions to begin learning what is bringing you into counseling and answer questions you may have about my therapeutic style.
Scheduling: After the consultation we move to scheduling your initial appointment. I offer in-person appointments as well as telehealth for Texas residents. I also offer telehealth appointments for California residents. This means I am able to work with clients throughout the state of California! You will get access to a secure HIPAA compliant portal where you will review/sign documentation and complete questionnaires. Providing information is an essential part of the therapeutic process. Completing the forms prior to our initial appointment allows for more time in session getting to know each other instead of completing paperwork.
The First Appointment: This is where we begin to build a professional relationship and set goals for what you want to work on and how I am able to support you throughout the process. This is more of a “meet and greet” session. The first appointment helps to build trust and establish safety in the relationship. In this appointment I purely get to be curious about you. I am not coming from a place of judgement but wanting to learn what is going on in your life.
What happens next: This is where we get to dive in and move towards the goals you have set. This is one step at a time, and individualized to your needs. This is your time, your space, your voice. I want to support, provide feedback, and let your voice be heard.
How do I collect payment? I collect payment at the end of each session. I accept cash, check, Venmo, and all major Credit Cards.
Fee for services: 50 minute session $150.00
Do I accept Insurance? I do not currently accept insurance. What does this mean? More privacy and control during our work together. If you have a PPO plan we can discuss a “super bill” for potential reimbursement. We can discuss this option more together.
